History

Montage is the realisation of a dream for Steve and Shvorn King, who having travelled extensively across the world, decided to live their dream and carve out a life in an area of France that offered natural beauty and a rich culture, and a very different lifestyle from that in Australia.

We returned many times to France and experienced the cultural and aesthetic diversity in different areas until in 2013, we finally decided that France was for us. After searching widely for the ideal property, we settled in the beautiful Tarn et Garonne in the south-west, because of its rolling hills, significant history and Mediterranean climate.

In the end, it was not a difficult decision. We purchased a magnificent 200 year old Quercy stone “blank canvas” with magnificent hilltop views in one of the best wine growing districts in France. Just pinch me, does it get much better than that?

The property was in a relatively dilapidated state and was extensively renovated in 2015, retaining the charm of the old stone exterior while providing a sophisticated, modern design on the interior. Montage now provides luxurious accommodation, well-equipped bathrooms, large outdoor and indoor entertaining areas, sensational kitchen facilities and the little touches of comfort that are expected in a luxury holiday home. We did not want to re-create a “typical” French maison, which would be just the same as many others across France, instead we succeeded in blending the old character with new facilities and stylish decor. The name, Montage France, is a reflection of the blending of multiple facets into a calm, comfortable and secure location where you can overlook the picturesque valley below.

Through the experiences of our own travels around the world we understand the core ingredients for relaxation and comfort in a holiday destination. We have also met so many people who have become our friends,  so we decided we would share the pleasure and lifestyle of Montage with fellow holiday-makers.

This unexploited region of France offers peace and tranquility along with numerous attractions and of course, the famous “black wines” of the district. These elements provide all the key ingredients for a holiday that is both relaxing and memorable. Once you’ve stayed here, we know you’ll want to return to this part of France and hopefully to Montage. We hope to see you soon.
